New Effort Brings Together Leading Women in Health Care: Disruptive Women in Health Care™
Washington, D.C. – A newly launched blog is bringing together diverse women with one common mission – to disrupt the health care status quo. Disruptive Women in Health Care™, is the first effort of its kind to create a platform where women from diverse backgrounds, careers and expertise can assemble to share provocative ideas, thoughts and solutions to the health challenges this country faces.
Created by Robin Strongin, President & CEO of Amplify Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., Disruptive Women was designed as a springboard for fresh ideas in health care. By tackling a broad range of issues, the discourse will offer significant contributions to the public, the new Administration and Congress as they prepare to tackle health care challenges.
“My vision of a disruptive woman is someone who not only sees a problem, but jumps in to correct it. She does so with guts and spunk and is not afraid to shake up the status quo,” said Strongin, a twenty-five year health care veteran. “Each of these women brings a unique perspective, years of hands on experience, and a track record of speaking up, speaking out and making change.”
The blog will feature women nationwide who are leaders in their respective fields and bring a wealth of knowledge to the health care discussion. In addition to the Disruptive Women authors, the blog will feature guest posts from an array of expert commentators.
“I am extremely pleased,” continued Strongin, “that these very accomplished women all saw the need–and the opportunity–this blog will bring to those grappling with the challenges we face in trying to improve the country’s health care. If we are to solve anything, we must not be afraid to ask the hard questions, challenge long-held beliefs and look at some of the thorny issues through a variety of lenses.”
“Watch out,” cautions Strongin, “these women are going to shake up your comfort zone.”
