The Dispatch from Disruptive Women

Last week, Disruptive Women hosted its first annual holiday reception “The Value of Health:
Creating Economic Security in the Developing World” at the National Musuem of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. I had the privilege of speaking at the program along with World Bank economist Dr. Maureen Lewis and Creative Women founder Ellen Dorsch.

The event served as the kick-off event for a series of blog posts by Disruptive Women and guest bloggers highlighting the connections between economic empowerment, the arts, and improved health in the developing world. Many Disruptive Women are economists, artists, social business CEOs, innovators and health care experts and all Disruptive Women want to see improved health care access and delivery—in the US as well as in developing countries. I invite you to read the unique perspectives these women have on global health and encourage your comments, feedback and ideas.
