• There's no way this will pass. They have to take the amendment out, or tweak it. I can understand the government not funding abortions but individuals should have the right to pay themselves.
• This is a major step backward. I don't want to see young women having coat hanger abortions in alleyways or throwing themselves down stairs. Why are we turning back time 100 years?
• I hope it does sail right through the Senate as is. We've made it too easy to take a life.
• Maybe Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL-Pro Choice America is right -- maybe legislators just mis-understood the amendment and thought that they were voting against federally funded abortions.
