I remember seeing Terry with his Genomics Health with the breast cancer community as a young advocate when he gave special breakfast meetings at SABCS, among other conferences I attended. I am always impressed with his presentations and passion. Now that I put the two names together, I can see your home is one huge dynamo of effervescence. Keep going, I'd love to jump on sometimes to cheer you along.

I know Pat and Sharon Terry, and so admire their work, their dedication to their children, their mission of assisting other families and children who encounter similar challenges to those they have themselves faced, their seemingly insatiable desire to do things that are audaciously of consequence to humanity... and their capacity for truly making a positive difference. It is marvelous that Disruptive Women would feature Pat in this month's publication, and I hope this leads to others getting to know this incredible man, and this truly amazing couple.

My favorite line in this interview is when Pat comments: "I have a belief, that if I’m always working to help alleviate human suffering and the burden of disease in this world then I want to make sure I’m exhausted at the end of each and every day." Pat and Sharon are two people who exist on less sleep than any other persons I know. And based on this line in your interview, I now understand why... and it makes perfect sense.

Keep up the good works, and please let us know how we can assist you in these worthy causes.

As a mother of a young adult with a chronic condition that is uncontrolled, I am deeply touched by your personal story. As a physician who specialized in pathology/laboratory medicine and conducted research in molecular diagnostics when it was in its infancy, I can say that it takes a visionary (a JAD like you) to bring players together to make giant leaps in advancing medicine to achieve change in a decade. What you have accomplished is earth shattering!- and should be inspiration for all of us that if we work together, we can achieve.

You are so right that what we need is collective health literacy to improve health care. Now, we just need to create a framework to organize technologies and groups to get there!
